Carl George Chicago 1933

Carl George was born in Hamburg, Germany and moved with his family to Toronto, Canada in 1886. Ten years later, he moved to Chicago to apprentice with Gustav Ferron and Franz Wagner. He made his first labeled instrument in 1899 and became a partner with Franz Wagner.

George used different models and made his own oil varnish, which was a golden-red color.
