Honore Derazey Mirecourt Circa 1860o

Honore Derazey was born in 1794 in Darney. He began working in several workshops in Mirecourt as an apprentice, and personally worked with several violin makers in Paris. A few years later, Derazey soon returned to Mirecourt, where he established himself as a violin maker. Having good craftsmanship, Derazey entered a competition at the England World Fair, where he won a silver medal in 1839 and again in 1849. After his death in 1883, Jean Baptiste Vuillaume sold Derazey's instruments using his own label.
